21April
Bernie looks out - the morning sky is red - "you know what the sailors say" says she.
The day wakes up and sun shines - the ocean is flat and the coconut trees barely move.
We are slow - the morning swim is set aside - 9:00 and we are ready to exercise - a 50 meter walk to breakfast.
We look out over the sea - the sun shines and the sea is broken by the occasional wave.
The mynas control their territory amongst the tables of the outside dining area only occasionally daring to venture inside. They are sharp, alert, dominant, attractive looking pests.
More exercise - back to the room - more rest for the lady- now of Springsteen's life for me - I am stunned - his vocabulary - his outlook on life is surprising me.
The promised rain doesn't appear - perhaps the sailors and BOM have it wrong.
Back to the resort center - we listen to the staff farewell today leavers and prepare to welcome their replacements. We sit and look out over the sea - the jet ski is servicing some snorkeling couples, tenders are gathering to greet the catamaran as it deposits and collects resort guests.
A quiet afternoon - a rest from exercise for Bernie - we rise to share a drink on the deck then retire to the room for the sister's zoom.
Dinner -the resort is under occupied - dinner tables unoccupied - I am afraid this version of the Marriott is in it's death throws - I wonder how long the brand can sustain the tarnish of a facility so in need of refreshment - it is only the demeanor of the staff that is it's saving grace.
Bernie smiles - her steak is perfection - she cannot leave the restaurant without speaking to the chef!
We stroll back to our room - bulla - bulla - did you enjoy your meal - what are you doing tomorrow?
The night perfect - we photograph the moon.
